THE PAST HAUNTS THE FUTURE…Drawn together by fate, Aharu the Elf and Shien the Butcher each work with spirits according to their own traditions. Soon enough, a confrontation with those spirits leads Aharu and Shien into a conflict with two sisters from a warrior race of horned demi-humans, the younger of whom is desperate to save her elder sister from imprisonment. The conflict spirals out of control, driving even Aharu to her boiling point as a forbidden technique to exploit spirits, thought to be lost in the Hundred Years’ War, is used once more… and the two travelers find themselves confronted with a plot that threatens to shatter a world at peace!
